"See the music, hear the dance."  George Balanchine

Words such as Scholar, Citizen, Professional and Artist guides the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SDSCPA) student towards their dreams and aspirations for a brighter future. Friends of SCPA share their vision and want to create opportunities to help their dreams come true.

SDSCPA is a public arts focused Title I magnet middle school and high school. Friends of SCPA is a volunteer and charitable IRC 501(c)(3) organization created to identify, prioritize and fund SDSCPA student and faculty needs, unite and incorporate the community into the SDSCPA family, and advocate for the creative and performing arts. Consider making a donation to support one of our programs or meet some of our needs by reviewing any of our team pages.  Earlier this year, the SDSCPA Jazz Ensemble along with the help of generous donors raised $4,100  to compete and attend the Reno Jazz Festival April 27-29, 2017. Stay tuned for news about the SDSCPA Jazz Ensemble!

Now, the SDSCPA Dance Department is raising funds to compete and attend the 2018 National High School Dance Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, February 28-March 4, 2018. The Dance Department has met 77% of their goal. Visit the team page to help students reach the NHSDF: http://donatefriendsofscpa.causevox.com/team/Dancers

MORE GOOD NEWS FOR SDSCPA DANCERS: SDSCPA Dancers will be performing at one of the highly acclaimed NHSDF concerts.  Our school competed against 250 other schools and was one of only 67 schools selected to perform at the evening concerts held throughout the week at the Festival. SDSCPA Dancers will be performing Chaos by Christopher Huggins during the Informal Concert at the Festival in Pittsburgh.

We still need to raise another $7,000.00 to cover all the expenses for our dancers and the two teachers who will accompany them to the National High School Dance Festival. Every donation helps us get that much closer to our goal.  Thank you to all our donors!

Special thank you to Thomas Thale, President and Owner of ProFiduciary, and his wife, Mary Peshel for creating this matching opportunity!

Special thank you to Connie Hall for creating another matching opportunity!

Support such as yours plays a crucial role in sustaining SDSCPA as a dual curriculum performing arts school in the Southern California region. Your thoughtful contribution helps SDSCPA create a diverse environment where students and faculty can do their best work.
